I just watched again the DVD called "Finding Faith in Christ". I was impressed that He is not only our Redeemer in the next life, but able and willing to be our Savior here and now. It fills me with awe and hope. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He continues to speak to us, usually through His prophets by the Holy Ghost. Because of Him we can receive the miracles of physical and spiritual health. He lives and continues to love each of us.Elder Wirthlin said, "The Lord Jesus Christ is our partner, helper, and advocate. He wants us to be happy. He wants us to be successful. If we do our part, He will step in. He who descended below all things will come to our aid. He will comfort and uphold us. He will strengthen us in our weakness and fortify us in our distress. He will make weak things become strong. " (See Ether 12:27)

Autumn's favorite "Jesus movie", as she calls it. Thomas' famous plea "Master, Master, carest not that we perish?" is misquoted by Autumn watching the boat, "Faster! Faster!" hee hee
On a serious note, the movie helps me "see" miracles of the atonement, not just feel or experience them for myself. Hope also fills my soul and encourages me to greater light. To quote President Uchtdorf:
"The adversary uses despair to bind hearts and minds in suffocating darkness. Despair drains from us all that is vibrant and joyful and leaves behind the empty remnants of what life was meant to be. Despair kills ambition, advances sickness, pollutes the soul, and deadens the heart. Despair can seem like a staircase that leads only and forever downward.
Hope, on the other hand, is like the beam of sunlight rising up and above the horizon of our present circumstances. It pierces the darkness with a brilliant dawn. It encourages and inspires us to place our trust in the loving care of an eternal Heavenly Father, who has prepared a way for those who seek for eternal truth in a world of relativism, confusion, and of fear." (Dieter F. Uchtdorf, “The Infinite Power of Hope,” Liahona, Nov 2008, 21–24) How appropriate Pres. Uchtdorf teaches us about hope - a WWII refugee - suffering hunger, total devastation and later in life serious lung disease. In all he continually looked to Christ.
